What should I bring... converter, adapter?

CONVERTERS

FIRST, check if you device is dual-voltage.
Many modern devices are, especially electronics. If it's the case then it will be marked 110-240V (or 100-240V) on it. If your device has dual-voltage, then you won't need a power-converter because you can plug these kinds of devices in both 110V and 220V.

You may then need to bring a power converter according to what hotel you are going to. See what type of electrical current is supplied at each hotel at the top of this page. Here are some examples:

• You are Canadian and your device only works on 110V: you'll need a converter if staying at the Memories Jibacoa but not if you’re staying at Starfish Jibacoa.
• You are European and your device only works on 220V: you'll need a converter if staying at the Starfish Jibacoa but not if you’re staying at Memories Jibacoa. But you'll always need and adapter (see below)

ADAPTERS

Do not confuse adapters and converters, an plug adapter do not convert voltage; it simply allows an electrical device from one country to be physically plugged into the electrical outlets of another country.

As mentioned above, the electrical outlets are Type A or B (designed to receive flat parallel prongs, North American style), if the plug of your device is different from this, then you’ll need an adapter.
