Fauna and Flora

Fauna and Flora, Jibacoa, Cuba

The seaside resort of Jibacoa is nestled in the heart of several hectares of lush tropical vegetation which is crossed by several rivers and streams. It’s also surrounded by green hills and scenic countryside. This beautiful Caribbean flora includes several species of palm trees, fruit trees, flowers, etc.

Wildlife is also abundant with several species of aquatic birds (pelicanos, seagulls, cormorants, sand pipers, etc.), lizards, iguanas, the Jutia (a rabbit-size mammal), the beautiful Tocororro (national bird Cuba), land crabs, a few non-venomous snakes, etc.

And without forgetting the beautiful and abundant marine life of the great coral reef that lies in front of the beaches of Jibacoa; which gives Jibacoa its reputation of "snorkeling paradise".
