Hiking Tour (a.k.a. Mountain Trek)

The animation team from the hotels in Jibacoa usually organize each week a guided Hiking Tour on the trails that goes up the hills behind the hotel zone. Overall it’s a fairly easy and short hike but at some points the trail gets a quite steep so good walking shoes and drinking water are recommended. The guide will stop a few times during the climb to give you the opportunity to admire the rich fauna and flora.

From the top of the hill there’s a SLENDID view of the resorts and the huge coral reef, don't forget to bring your camera! On the other side of the hill you can visit a local farm, and then will walk back to the hotel on a small road (gentle slope) through the countryside with typical houses, small farms, quaint private bars, and paladares (family-run restaurants).

A few of these local farms offer horseback rides (mountain rides 15 USD, beach rides 10 USD).
